Ever wondered what was inside a CPU? The processor is the heart and soul of any computer, it is able to compute unimaginable number of calculations per second. And it is for this very reason that they have helped us achieve accelerated level technological advancements in the past several decades.
Inside each chip are billions of transistors, which are the driving force of all modern processors. These tiny switches are placed into an area no larger than that of a fingernail. This is amazing, considering that they originated from simple sand.
In order help us understand the manufacturing process better, Intel has introduced an animated video called a “chip’s journey from concept to customer” Take a look at it for a deeper understanding into the chip making process and the technology behind Intel’ success.
