The new iPad mini with an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display was unveiled today by Apple. Apple’s new iPad mini boasts up to 80 percent faster performance than its previous generation based on the A15 Bionic chip. Mobile workflows are more flexible with 5G cellular models and USB-C port connectivity. A brand-new camera, Apple Pencil (2nd generation). The new iPad mini will be available for purchase beginning today and in stores by September 24.


Stunning New All-Screen Design
New colors – pink, starlight, purple, and space gray – make the iPad mini a stunning device With a larger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display and narrow borders, the iPad mini keeps its compact form factor while offering a larger screen. The glass is enhanced with 500 nits of illumination, a P3 color gamut, an antireflective screen coating, True Tone, and full lamination, ensuring vibrant, clear images and video. With new landscape stereo speakers and the new screen, you’ll be able to watch movies with great audio and video quality.

With Touch ID now located on the iPad mini’s top button, this all-screen design can be achieved. With Touch ID, iPad mini can be unlocked, apps can be logged in to, or Apple Pay can be used. Users will have the same ease of use and security.


Performance Boost With A15 Bionic Chip
The new A15 Bionic chip gives the iPad mini a performance boost. In comparison to the previous generation of iPad mini, the 6-core CPU delivers a 40 percent performance boost, while the 5-core GPU delivers an 80 percent graphics performance boost. Apple’s A15 Bionic on iPad mini can handle even the most demanding tasks – from graphically rich games to pro apps used by designers, pilots, and doctors.

With a 16-core Neural Engine and new ML accelerators in the CPU, advanced machine learning (ML) functions can be performed at a 2x faster rate than the predecessor. With the Neural Engine, apps have access to next-generation capabilities, including image recognition and natural language processing. New ML features in iPadOS 15 include Live Text, a feature that allows users to recognize text in photos, act on it, and even translate it into seven languages.

Enhanced Cameras Bring Center Stage To iPad Mini
Users of iPad mini will be able to enjoy Center Stage’s rich video call experience on iPad Pro. The new 12MP ultra wide front camera enables Center Stage, which automatically pans the camera to keep users in view as they move about.

This model has a new 12-megapixel sensor with Focus Pixels and an aperture larger than ever before to capture sharp, vivid photos. Additionally, the back camera features the True Tone flash, so you can capture images in low light. With A15 Bionic’s new ISP, users will be able to take pictures that look exceptionally natural thanks to Smart HDR, which improves image quality by bringing out highlights and shadows.


Faster wireless connectivity with 5G and USB-C

* With Quick Note, Notes is system-wide and provides new collaboration and organization capabilities, whether you are typing or writing with the Apple Pencil.

* With the new Translate app for iPad, conversations will be easier and more natural with features like automatic translation and face-to-face viewing.

* It is even easier and more powerful to multitask now with features like Split View and Slide Over, which are more intuitive.

* A photo can be scanned to detect text, and Live Text uses on-device intelligence to let users do something about it. As an example, a photograph of a storefront may reveal a phone number and
the option to call.

* As users are currently working, reading, exercising, playing games, or sleeping, Focus lets them filter notifications based on what they’re doing.

* New features such as spatial audio and Portrait mode make FaceTime calls more natural. The new grid view for Group FaceTime displays participants in same-sized tiles.
