Bendable monitors offer the advantages of a traditional large, flat screen display as well as the immersion of a proper, curved one. Thats the angle LG’s taking with its OLED Flex (LX3) monitor. It’s a 42-inch OLED that offers 20 different bendable levels. This can be done manually with 5% increments.

However, the curvature can also be changed automatically with one of two available presets. Just press the dedicated button on the remote control, and the monitor will do the bending for you. It’s height adjustable stand offers 140 millimeters of travel, either up or down. You can also tilt the screen forward up to 10 degrees or away up to 5 degrees.

Due to it being an OLED panel, it should offer good contrast, deep blacks and accurate colors. In addition to its fast, 0.1 millisecond response time, users can adjust the size of the onscreen image. Depending on preference, you could choose between 42, 32, or 27-inches and the relative position. This feature can be accessed through the Gaming Dashboard Menu.

The OLED Flex also supports Dolby Vision gaming at 4K, 120Hz and HDMI 2.1, which allows for variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM). It’s also compatible with G-SYNC and AMD’s FreeSync, which promises smoother and less distracting images for a more immersive experience.

Powered by the α (Alpha) 9 Gen 5 intelligent processor and picture algorithms, LG OLED Flex is supposed to offer “lifelike” image quality. You should be able to enjoy lengthy gaming sessions or binge-watch favorite shows without experiencing eye fatigue, the super anti-reflection (SAR) coating on the screen helps reduce overall visual distractions.

LG’s new Game app, which is exclusive to the LX3, allows users to set custom screensavers, use shortcuts to popular apps and access a list of connected external input devices. Gaming Optimizer adds customized sound settings for specific game genres.

The game sound settings menu includes an equalizer and switches for AI Game Sound and Dolby Atmos. These options let users access advanced audio settings to tailor the gaming experience to Indvidual tastes.

The LX3’s Multi View Mode allows users to view content from two different sources simultaneously and select which audio feed they would like to hear. This means that you can be using your PC while interacting with your smartphone with just the monitor.

Connect and use multiple peripherals with the Switching Hub function. This makes it possible to use the OLED Flex’s built-in microphone and any devices connected via USB ports with a connected PC. By pressing the source switch button on the stand, user can switch between device connections without having to physically disconnect anything.

The built-in mic provides effective echo-cancellation for clear communication during streams or gameplay. There are two front-firing 40W speakers which support Dolby Atmos for better clarity and depth.

There’s also a customizable lighting feature built into the rear design. Offering 5 different modes to choose from, it helps enhance the atmosphere by synchronizing with the video or audio what’s playing ion screen.
