Looks like 2020 Will Claim The Samsung Galaxy Note Line
December 4, 2020Samsung’s elegantly crafted Note 20, the very same device that received rave reviews from media publications and YouTubers alike, may be the last of its kind. According to a report by Reuters, the Korean smartphone giant is mulling the idea of axing the Note line in its entirety. Citing poor sales figures, the Note 21 may never see 2021. Instead, the Galaxy S phones will take their place as the brand’s ‘halo’ devices.
They will join the new foldable phones in offering S Pen support. However, it’s still unclear how this will play out. The Note line of phones are the culmination of the very best that Samsung has at its disposal, while the lesser Galaxy phones have always been left wanting. The Note 20 Ultra exemplifies this notion perfectly. Despite their polarizing appeal, the Notes have garnered a faithful following since their introduction in 2011.
The S Pen, though not an essential accessory, provides a sense of flexibility and convenience that lesser phones cannot offer. The ability to jot down notes at an instant, highlight information to share with others or being able to flick through presentation slides with a simple click of the pen – are ‘life saving’ at times. This is why, they are the preferred choice by many business minded folk.
It’s a sad ending to an incredible saga that was once brimming with possibilities. The Note 20 Ultra proved to be the best pocket computer money can buy. Connecting it to a monitor, turns the device into a proper pseudo PC. And with incredible performance prowess, it is able to crunch through tasks with relative ease. Here’s to hoping that the S21 does a stand up job of being the stand in for the Note 21.
