Microsoft Edge, it’s here and better than expected!

Microsoft’s new Edge browser is here, and can be downloaded directly from Microsoft.com. In case you didn’t know, it isn’t a skinned version of Internet Explorer – it’s a whole different browser.

It’s based off of Chromium, the same platform used by Google’s Chrome browser. This means that the user experience is eerily similar to that of Chrome. In addition to this, Microsoft also has a plethora of extensions that can be added to Edge browser.

Microsoft has even made it extraordinarily simple for chrome users to jump ship. Once installed, Edge gives you the option of migrating your bookmarks and settings from chrome, or start fresh. It is really that simple.

We’ve covered the ‘new’ Edge’s features in a previous article, so, we aren’t going to elaborate any further here. But, if you are interested to download and test it yourself, here’s how you do it. (Microsoft Edge is completely free to download)

Head on over to Microsoft.com/en-us/edge and download the file. If you are on a Mac, then choose the Edge Browser for your MacOS (Click on the arrow beside the Download button). Setup and Installation of the browser is self-explanatory, so you shouldn’t run into issues.

It’s still early days for Edge, and only time will tell if can go toe to toe with Chrome. That said, and true to Microsoft’s word, the browser features a clean interface and performs just as well too. The responsiveness is better than expected, faster even, than Chrome – though that might change over time.

Check out Microsoft Edge and let us know how it compares to your browser of choice!
