More Than 100 Million People Use Apple Watch, Study Says

More than 100 million people in the world currently own an Apple Watch. That’s according to analyst Cybart from Above Avalon. First reported by 9to5mac, the data suggests an upward trend in the adoption of wearable tech. However, the rate of adoption isn’t consistent, because 2020 alone accounts for 30 million new Apple Watch users.

It’s no secret that Cupertino commands a lion’s share of the smartwatch market. Apple’s WatchOS is far superior than anything Android has to offer. It provides comprehensive data of one’s fitness, helps ensure that said fitness targets are met, provides useful information when needed and alerts users of potential health problems.

Besides Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active2, The latest Apple Watches have been approved by the FDA for the detection of AFib (atrial fibrillation). It can also measure oxygen saturation though what it presents is a ballpark figure, nothing more. It’s not a replacement for calibrated medical devices, so it shouldn’t be treated as such.
