Motorola Razr Complicated Device, Says iFixit

Are you curious about what’s inside the new Motorola Razr? Well, wonder no more. Everyone’s favorite teardown team, iFixit, has managed to pry open the new Razr. It’s a complicated device, assembled with durability in mind.

If you can spare the time to disassemble this device, you will be happy to know that the Razr can be taken apart without damaging anything. Besides some minor adhesives, the entire device is put together with torx t3 screws. And with enough patience, anyone can take it apart.

Despite this startling discovery, iFixit still gave the Razr a repair-ability score of 1. This is due in no small part to the relative complexity of the assembly and the time required to get down to the component level. Like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, the Razr features two individual batteries.

Great thought went into the design of the new Razor, especially when it came to the patented hinge design. It allows the screen to form a loop when closed, which dramatically reduces the visibility of a crease.
