Samsung says purple represents the same values as its Galaxy product portfolio: individuality, pushing boundaries, and being a relentless innovator.

As Samsung’s palette shows, it’s variation of the color purple has evolved in a variety of ways – from light and playful to dark and bold. Purple has been a hallmark of Samsung’s signature style since its Orchid Gray Galaxy S8, Lilac Purple Galaxy S9, Violet S22 series, and Lavender Z Flip 3.

The newest shade follows the same purple “heritage”, which is intrinsically related to Samsung’s philosophy: Bora Purple. ‘Bora’ means purple in Korean, and the bright and eye-catching Bora Purple Galaxy S22 has been coloured to evoke joy, spark creativity, and embrace individuality.

“With its pastels and neutral tones, Bora Purple exudes optimism and a sense of calm. It will let you choose what you want in your life,” says Sonia Chang, VP of Global Brand Marketing Group, MX Business at Samsung Electronics.

“No matter if you’re a K-pop idol or a lifelong purple fan, the Galaxy S22 Bora Purple was made for you. Bora Purple will be available for the S22 first, but there will also be exciting new Galaxy devices later in the year,” she added.

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 in Bora Purple will be available starting August 23 .
