New Watch Faces And Features For Galaxy Watch4 In Latest Update
October 20, 2021Samsung will be rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy Watch4. Accompanying it are more watch faces and complications. There are four in total, which allow you to see the information that matters the most. The designs include a view of info brick, the weather, basic dashboard and live wallpapers borrowed from foldables like the Galaxy Z Flip3.
Watch Faces
For info brick watch faces, users can now add complications like heart rate, stress, daily activity status and others. Alternatively, you could choose an animal watch face or a Step Challenge one.
On animal watch faces, you now have the option of mixing and matching up to four different complications. They include battery life reminders, messages, step count and several others. Besides this, you can also choose a GIF for your My Photo+ watch face rather than having a static photo.
There are also more interesting animations to Steps Challenge watch faces. An animated bear will follow your every step during your workout, from stretching during your warm-up to cheering when you reach your goal.
Gesture Controls
Currently, Watch4 users can move their forearm up and down twice to receive calls and rotate their wrist twice to reject calls or dismiss alarms. The new update introduces another gesture: ‘knock, knock’. The motion involves clenching your fist, then moving your wrist back and forth to mimic the act of knowing on a door.
This motion activates a supported gesture that lets you launch a chosen app or feature. It can be used to open a list of workouts, turn on a light or create a new reminder. Technically, you are now able to access the Watch4’s various functions without even touching it.
Fall Detection
Samsung is allowing users to adjust the sensitivity of it detecting a fall. The Watch4 can also send out an SOS notification to up to four pre-selected contacts. This can help alert loved ones of your need for their help during an emergency.
In addition to this, Galaxy Watch users can also get a 60-day free-of-charge Strava subscription. You’ll have access to enhanced workout analysis, training plans, safety features and more.
