New Alienware Aurora With Sleeker Look And Improved Cooling

October 20, 2021 Off By Naveen Victor

Alienware has come out with the latest model of the Aurora, its flagship desktop PC to commemorate the line’s 25th anniversary. Since its introduction as the Aurora ALX in 2004 with features that include accommodation for liquid-cooling, the mid-tower model has become the favored choice among competitive gaming people.

Its iconic shape, subtle but purposeful curves certainly make it an appealing prospect to gaming enthusiasts. You can have one in either white or black colour options, which Alienware calls Lunar Light and Dark Side of the Moon, respectively. The company also offers a transparent left-side panel as an option to allow you to ogle the illuminated motherboard (8 lighting options)

The new redesigned Aurora features an open-air design that allows air to be fed in from the honeycomb-shaped airways at the front of the case, channels it past the various components before it is expelled from the rear. This case has been designed to offer better accessibility and airflow while improving acoustic properties and cable management.

There’s also an optional magnetic cable cover that lets you stow away cables and conceal ports on the rear side. The panel on the right can also be removed for cable management and routing purposes.

These are the specifications of the Aurora system:
– 12th Gen i5-12600KF
– 16GB RAM
– 512GB SSD
– NVIDIA GeForce RTX3060
– Windows 11

As a result of said improvements, the Aurora has a 50% larger internal chassis volume compared to its predecessor, without significantly affecting its overall dimensions. This Alienware says, results in better airflow efficacy and a reduction in acoustic profile. In addition to this, the overall improvement equates to a total of 5% increase in graphics performance.

Improvements to airflow is attributed to a new thermal design that supports up to four 120mm fans and liquid cooling options. Coupled with the case’s open-air concept results in lower system temperature during intense gaming sessions. Compared to previous gen cases, the New Aurora is up to 16% quieter at idle, 9% quieter under heavy load and 15% quieter when overclocked.

The Alienware Aurora will be available to purchase in Malaysia by the end of October with a price tag of RM8,899. Visit the manufacturer website for more details on how you can get your hands on one.
