OPPO Unveils the Cutting-Edge MR Glass Developer Edition at AWE 2023

At the Augmented World Expo (AWE) 2023 in California, OPPO made waves by launching its latest breakthrough in XR technology—the OPPO MR Glass Developer Edition. This state-of-the-art mixed reality (MR) device boasts advanced features that provide an ideal platform for developers to create and showcase immersive MR experiences.

With a strong belief in the future adoption of XR technology, OPPO is focusing on MR as one of the most promising modalities. To drive innovation in MR applications, OPPO will release the MR Glass as an official Snapdragon Spaces developer kit in China. This strategic move aims to attract more developers to the field and push the boundaries of XR technology.

During the keynote speech, Yi Xu, Director of XR Technology at OPPO, emphasized the transformative potential of XR technologies. He praised the seamless integration of the virtual and real worlds in MR and expressed excitement about the capabilities of the OPPO MR Glass, which is equipped with Snapdragon Spaces technology to empower developers.

OPPO’s collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has played a crucial role in their XR endeavors. Both companies share a vision for establishing an open ecosystem that fosters innovation and expands possibilities in XR. Qualcomm Technologies’ Senior Director, Bakadir, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and the potential to enhance productivity, creativity, and gaming experiences through OPPO’s MR Glass.

The OPPO MR Glass is a technological marvel, incorporating the Snapdragon XR2+ platform, SUPERVOOC fast charging, and heart rate detection. Made with skin-friendly materials, it features Binocular VPT (Video Pass Through) technologies, dual front RGB cameras, pancake lenses, and a high refresh rate of 120Hz.

OPPO has been actively exploring XR technology and empowering developers to innovate. From the release of the AR Glass in 2019 to the recent success of the OPPO Air Glass winning the Edison Product Award, OPPO has consistently pushed the boundaries of algorithms, optical solutions, and interactions. Their commitment to seamlessly connecting the physical and digital worlds has led to notable innovations like the AR application CybeReal.

The OPPO MR Glass will be available as a Snapdragon Spaces developer kit in China through EnlightXR in the second half of 2023.
