Samsung’s The Sero Aims To Be The TV To Do It All

Samsung makes some of the best TVs on the market. We recently reviewed the 65-inch QN90A 4K TV, and found it to be a compelling prospect for anyone who enjoys immersive content. But The Sero is a very different beast. It’s basically a 43-inch 4K TV that’s fitted to a navy-blue rollable stand. Unlike conventional products, the screen can be rotated to fit both portrait and landscape positions.

Since the stand has wheels, The Sero is extremely easy to move and position in different spaces throughout the home. When the need arises, it could be wheeled into the kitchen for in-depth cooking lessons or to follow step-by-step cooking recipes. During a workout session, it can be positioned so that you can follow workout regiments/instructional videos with better clarity.

When there’s a need for it, The Sero can be rolled into a closet or living space to help you choose an outfit from your wardrobe or keep up with the latest trends. It’s also a smart 4K TV that can mirror the screen of your smartphone and tablet. Games and social media content can be pushed to The Sero, while said phone or tablet takes on the role of a gaming controller or TV remote.

The word Sero means vertical or new in the Korean language, which is only fitting considering this TV’s various applications including 5 different portrait positions for various needs. When The Sero is rotated either vertically or horizontally, the display adjusts its orientation to suit said position. Content is rearranged accordingly to fit the respective orientation.

When not in use, this minimalist TV can also function as a digital poster, display animated clocks or as a sound wall when in screen saver mode. It can adapt to fit various needs for both home and business uses. Its thin profile makes it easy for it to blend in with the decor.

Despite the thin dimensions, Samsung didn’t skimp on audio equipment. The Sero has built-in 4.1 channel 60W speakers located under the vertical stand. The woofer is supported by a passive radiator to provide deeper and richer bass. There’s also support for Bixby voice assistant, so you can get it to respond to your voice commands.

Samsung says that The Sero offers 100% color volume with over a billion colors. This is supposed to provide for a powerful, immersive experience. That’s not all, the TV also uses AI upscaling technology that allows it to upscale content to fit the 4K resolution. This means that for the most part, you should be able to enjoy crisp video quality, regardless of the input quality.

Other worthy mentions include Adaptive Picture, Responsive UI, Tap View technology, Active Voice Amplifier (AVA). If you would like to know more about this TV visit https://www.samsung.com/my/lifestyle-tvs/the-sero/.
