Cyber security is a topic that is on everyone’s minds. As we begin to increase our reliance on online platforms for our work and personal matters, the more susceptible we become to cyber attacks. Samsung considers itself and advocate of cyber security, which is why, over the past several years, it has implemented measures to keep its devices safe.

Samsung Knox is a system that is said to protect, isolate and secure data, beginning at the hardware level. Secure WiFi on the other hand tries to keep users out of harm’s way when surfing the internet on public wireless connections. Find My Mobile service, allows users to remotely locate their lost or stolen smartphone or backup and protect data on the device.

That said, you may not be aware of the extra security measure the Korean smartphone maker has used in the Galaxy S20. It’s called the secure chip, and its job is to counter against hardware level attacks. It provides an isolated space to protect confidential data in the device, scrambles and encrypts confidential data as well as employs a physical shield against attacks.

The secure chip’s level of protection spans across multiple areas. It ensures that the lock screen PIN, patterns or passwords are not susceptible to attacks. It can also process blockchain private keys and support Strongbox Keymaster, which provides hardware protection for private keys or sensitive data on third-party apps.
