4K, Full-frame Cinematic Image Quality

The Alpha 7S III is the first camera to use this new technology and provides up to four times faster processing compared to the FS5 II. It features a 10.2 MP full-frame Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor with a 15+ stop wide dynamic range that is highly sensitive and low-noise.

The base sensitivity of FX6 is ISO 800 with an enhanced ability of ISO 12,800 – expandable to 409,600 – to help in situations of low and very low light conditions. The system is able to record in XAVC Long GOP, as well as XAVC All Intra 4K, for 4:2:2 image quality at up to 120 frames per second in 3840×2160.

FX6’s cinematic color technology is optimized for best results by capturing the most dynamic range possible from the sensor to add to the creative flexibility. With the color science of Venice, FX6 also allows producers to match footage from other Sony cameras such as the FX9.

Features include advanced video

FX6 offers Fast Hybrid AF by combining 627-point focal plane phase-detection AF with Real-time Eye AF in high frame rates and continuous AF. This allows camera operators to keep erratic subjects from escaping the shot in slow motion without a sound. Fast Hybrid AF works with more than 50 native E-mount lenses. The camera can also capture slow-motion up to four times slower than real time with 4K (QFHD) 120fps.

Users can choose between auto and manual density increments from 1/4 to 1/128 for perfectly exposed images without affecting the depth of field, even when lighting conditions are changing. Combined with the camera’s ultra-high sensitivity, the electronic variable ND filter gives photographers the control in a variety of shooting conditions.
