The “Real-time AF” focus can now keep focus on both humans and animals. Low light conditions aren’t an issue either, because the phone’s camera is able to compensate for this, thanks in part to a new large 1/1.7″ Exmor RS which is 1.5x more sensitive than the previous model.

Sony’s Xperia 1 II triple rear cameras have a focal length of 16mm/24mm/70mm respectively. the new ‘Pro’ mode, which is said to carry over Technology from the Alpha range of digital cameras, and as a result, users are given more manual control over their settings.

Another fun party trick, is the ability to connect the Xperia 1 II to Sony Alpha cameras as a secondary display. This enables it to be used as a remote to control composition, focus mode and ISO sensitivity among other settings. You can transfer photos taken on Alpha to Xperia 1 II to review colours and hues.

There’s also the Cinematography Pro mode “powered by CineAlta” that supports 2K 120fps 10-bit HDR cinematic high frame rate shooting and cinematic 21:9 4K HDR recording at 24/25/30/60fps. The phone’s camera has Touch AF, metered manual controls for settings exposure, improved white balance settings and intelligent wind filter technology for noise reduction.

2. Fast Charge
It may not sound like much, but the Xperia 1 II’s 4000mAh battery can charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes with Qi fast wireless charging to improve your cord cutting experience. In addition to this, the Xperia 1 II has an improved battery lifespan with the help of AI-powered ‘Battery Care”.

3. Great Audio
Xperia 1 II is the first smartphone to have 360 Reality Audio hardware decoding to optimize sound quality for selected music streaming apps. It is also fitted with high quality stereo speakers and audio tuning abilities to reduce crosstalk to an imperceptible 20dB, which is over 90% lower than USB-C headphone connections.

4.Game is on
Connect it directly to a PlayStation 4, and use the phone as you would a DualShock 4, as wireless controller for those intense gaming session. It has IP65/68 water resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass 6, so it will be one tough controller.

Though the Sony Xperia 1 II may look dissimilar to its predecessor, but on the inside it’s a very different story. The company has placed a great deal of emphasis on camera hardware, which should make it an interesting prospect for those who favor photography capabilities over everything else.
