Star Wars Coke bottles light up when touched!

Coca-Cola has launched an interesting marketing campaign in Singapore. It’s being held in conjunction with the upcoming Star Wars movie, The Rise of Skywalker. Unique Coca-Cola bottles, adorned with Star Wars themed labels will be made available upon the completion of a ‘hunt’. Each bottle has one of two characters from the movie, Kylo Ren or Rey.

What separates these bottles from the regular ones, is that the lightsabers of each of the two characters, light up when touched. A simple electrical circuit is printed on the label, which includes a battery, circuitry and the OLED (lightsaber). When held around the label area, your hand helps complete the electrical circuit, causing the lightsaber to illuminate.

This patented tech was developed by Inuru, the same company behind several other similar products. Inuru and Coca-Cola collaborated on this unique project to deliver an interesting experience to fans of the movie franchise.

Only 8000 bottles will be circulated at selected 7-Eleven outlets in Singapore. And in order to find out where these outlets are, you will have to take part in Coca-Cola’s ‘No Sugar Galactic Hunt’ challenge. It will take place over the course of three separate weekends, 6-8 December, 13-15 December and 20-22 December.

This ‘Hunt’ is about solving a riddle that will be made known through Coca-Cola Singapore’s Facebook and Instagram or the official Campaign website. Each day, 5 of the 7-Eleven locations will be made known. Once you get to one of these places, a gatekeeper will be present. He/she will hand you a pass that can be used to purchase this special Coke bottle.

It’s an elaborate competition aimed at drawing in the avid Star Wars fanbase in Singapore. If you are in the area and are able to spare the time, these Star Wars bottles could be worth your effort. Such unique memorabilia don’t come along very often.
