Vivo Y78 5G, Offers Premium Looks & Capabilitiess At RM1,399

Vivo’s Y78 5G aims to offer a great smartphone experience to the masses. Sporting a sleek design and capable hardware, it could be the phone you’re looking for. Its curved, 120Hz OLED display stretches across the entire front of the phone, leaving little room for the non-existent bezels.

Vivo says the phone’s curved design allows for a more comfortable grip for the user. Besides this, it also helps reduce color distortion on the edges of the display, which is a common issue of such smartphones. Despite the slender form factor, the company was still able to shoehorn a 5,000mAh battery into it.

It supports the 44W fast charging technology. It is supposed to be quick and efficient at topping up the battery. The Y78 5G also uses a smart charging engine that determines the optimal charging strategy based on how much energy is being consumed at any given time.

This type of power delivery helps reduce battery degradation over time and helps extend the lifespan by about 25%. In other words, users won’t need to worry about when and how long to keep their phone plugged into the charger.

Its main 64MP rear, main camera has optical image stabilization (OIS), which is an essential feature for capturing smooth results. This is especially true when recording a subject that’s moving or a wide, panoramic scene. Vivo also says that the phone will allow you to capture smooth and crisp content even in low-light conditions, which is something many mid-range phones struggle to achieve.

In terms of performance, the Y78 5G uses the extended RAM feature that maximizes the use of memory to allow for multi-tasking without running into performance issues. Vivo claims that tech can help free up 600MB of memory space when needed to allow you to do more with the same hardware. Though the phone comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage space, it’s good to know that the software keeps everything running smoothly.

Vivo’s Y78 5G is available to order for RM1,399 and is available in either Gold or Black.
