WhatsApp is now available for the Mac. Following the release of the new desktop app for Windows users, the messaging service is now bringing the same communication and flexibility to the Apple ecosystem. You can now make group calls to up to 32 people and connect to 8 people on video calls.
Besides this, you can join a group call after it starts, see your call history, and receive incoming call notifications even if you’re not on the app (if the permission’s enabled). The company says that it’s redesigned the UI to bring it in line with what Mac users are familiar with seeing on their machines. You can share files by dragging and dropping a chat as well as view chat history.
WhatsApp for Mac uses end-to-end encryption to keep users’ messages and calls private across all devices. That means you’re getting the same level of security that’s experienced on other platforms. To download and try the app on your Mac, visit WhatsApp.com. Expect to see the same available on the App Store very soon.
