Apple has introduced a new screening tool and online resource to keep people in the US informed and protect themselves from COVID-19. Based on the guidance by the CDC, Cupertino has introduced a new COVID-19 website and COVID-19 app.

Both resources were created in partnership with the CDC, the White House Coronavirus Task Force and FEMA. Users can access either platform and answer a series of questions on their risk factors, recent exposure and their symptoms or that of their loved ones.

Based on the provided answers, they will receive CDC recommendations on next steps, guidance on social distancing and self-isolating, how to closely monitor symptoms and when it’s time to contact a medical provider.

Apart from this, users can also learn more about the virus, recognize symptoms and best hygiene practices to lessen the chances of getting infected. That said, these tools are designed to keep users informed, and in no way supersede instruction provided by healthcare providers, state or local health authorities.

In addition to the website and app, users in the US can also say ask Siri for COVID-19 related advice. Just say, “Hi Siri, how do I know if I have the coronavirus?” Apple’s virtual assistant will provide said information after accessing resources from the CDC and other telehealth apps.

Anyone in the US who is 18 years of age or older, can access the aforementioned screening tool and resources by downloading the COVID-19 app on the App Store or by visiting apple.com/covid19.
