Experience the world of Jumanji in VR!
November 5, 2019 Off By Naveen VictorThe Void has teamed up with Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR) to give fans of the Jumanji movies, a first hand (Virtual Reality) experience of the terrifying yet intriguing world of Jumanji, the very same world that is depicted in the previous and upcoming movie that will be released in December.
Unlike traditional theme parks, this project aims to combine physical and virtual space. Providing an immersive and interactive world that encompasses the action and wonder that captivated fans about the movie franchise. It puts players in the front seat, enabling them to experience the virtual world as they would the physical one.
Back in 2016, both companies partnered to deliver a similar experience with Ghostbusters: Dimensions, that aimed to thrill and amaze fans through the wonderful world of VR. Not only was it the first studio project for The VOID, but it was also the world’s first commercial location based VR experience, which was also based on a movie.
This new attraction, called Jumanji: Reverse the Curse will be launched to offer moviegoers an eventful experience in advance of the upcoming move installment, Jumanji: The Next Level. It allows them to take on the form of the characters from the movie, Dr. Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Professor Oberon and “Mouse” Finbar, as they seek to save Jumanji.
According to the press release by The Void, the experience is follows:
Fans will be enlisted on a daring quest to rescue the Scepter of Se’payu containing the Red Jewel of Jumanji and return it to the temple from which it was stolen. Pulled into the perils of Jumanji, players face challenges just like those that the avatars face in the movie – evading man-eating wildlife, navigating across treacherous landscape, battling evil henchmen – to survive and return to real life.
At the moment, the adventure can be experienced at select The VOID outlets around the world at the following locations:
