Intel Donates 1 Million in Medical Gear

As the world comes to grips with the COVID-19 pandemic, tech companies are lending helping a hand, as best they can, to help mitigate its spread. Intel is one of such companies, because it will source and donate 1 million items of personal protective equipment to those who need it most.

This equipment include masks, gloves, face shields and other gear have been sourced from the company’s own factory stock and emergency supplies. Intel will continue to look for more of such gear to meet its’s commitment of 1 million items.

Speaking of the outbreak, Todd Brady, director of Global Public Affairs for Intel, said, “We are immensely grateful to the healthcare workers who are at the front lines of slowing this pandemic.”

The chipmaker is no stranger to philanthropy, because in January, it announced a $1 million donation to the International Red Cross to support global relief efforts for the coronavirus outbreak. And it will channel future donations through local health authorizes to ensure the provided aid is maximized as much as possible.

Intel and several other tech giants, which include Xiaomi, are following through on their pledges to supply aid or medical gear to those who are on the front lines. Medical staff have beard the brunt of the COVID-19 outbreak, having to work 18-hour shifts while wearing constrictive masks and protective attire.
