Maxis Calls On Malaysians To Donate Their Old Phones
April 9, 2021Do you often wonder what to do with old or used devices? Well, here’s your chance to donate them for a good cause to benefit those in need. A Maxis initiative called the #MYBaikHati drive aims to narrow the digital learning gap in Malaysia by collecting old laptops, tablets, and 4G smartphones. There are 10 Maxis Centers available throughout Klang Valley, Penang, Ipoh, and Johor Bahru so you can drop off your devices there.
“Maxis aims to provide greater access to basic technology for the purpose of learning and day-to-day necessities, especially for those who can’t afford buying new devices.
This noble effort is one we are proud of, and we hope to work with everyone else to get a device in the hands of those in need,” said Mariam Bevi Batcha, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Maxis.
The following are what you need to know about this:
1.Donate any old/used devices you no longer need. These can be laptops, tablets, and 4G smartphones. You can also donate a new device if you wish to.
2. These Maxis Centres will accept your device(s):

4. A partner NGO will refurbish and reset the devices to factory settings before delivering them to identified families.
5. Devices that fail to meet our strict criteria will be responsibly recycled through our existing e-waste programme.
