Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro 2 is one of the best options on the market when it comes to practical wireless earbuds. Read our review here. According to a couple of studies, these earbuds may have a purpose beyond entertainment.

A clinical trial done by the University of Iowa’s Hearing Aid and Aging Research Laboratory concluded that the Galaxy Buds2 Pro significantly improved speech perception in those who had mild-to-moderate hearing loss. A similar trial conducted by Samsung Medical Centre found the wireless earbuds to be an effective tool at helping people with mild-to-moderate hearing communicate better in quiet places.

Samsung has added customization options to make the Galaxy Buds2 Pro more effective to use. The updated Ambient Sound feature, which allows you to remain aware of your surroundings, now has two additional levels of amplification. This helps provide improved hearing for more users.

Ambient Sound can be fine-tuned to suit a variety of needs. Users can adjust the volumes of each earbud respectively. Ambient Sound tone range can be customized from soft to clear for total of 5 different stages. In addition to this, the Adapt Ambient Sound feature allows the earbuds to tune the Ambient Sound to suit a user’s ears.

“We are excited to be introducing the new enhanced accessibility feature of the Galaxy Buds2 Pro to users on Global Accessibility Awareness Day,” said Han-gil Moon, Master and Head of Advanced Audio Lab, MX Business at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung will continue to work to help each and every user experience the best possible audio anytime, anywhere with their Galaxy Buds2 Pro.”

According to Samsung, the new Ambient sound feature will be progressively released to the Galaxy Buds2 Pro around the world via a software update that will roll out in the coming weeks.
