Sony Electronics Video Now Supported In Visual Story 2.0
September 13, 2021
The latest version of Sony Electronics’ Visual Story phone app simplifies the process of sending photos and videos immediately following events to clients with gallery creation, AI (artificial intelligence) assistance, and web delivery. Weddings, corporate events, sporting events, school activities, and family reunions are just some of the types of situations where Visual Story is excellent for delivering an excellent experience. Visual Story will continue to improve and enhance its capabilities in the future to meet the needs of today’s creators.
Support for video content in Story Galleries
As of version 2.0 of the Visual Story app, users can now include video content in their Story Galleries to easily share those special moments with clients. After the video files are uploaded to the app, users can also easily edit the video in the Visual Story app by manually trimming unnecessary portions of each video. This new feature is compatible with the Alpha 7S III, Alpha 1 and FX3 cameras.
Support for SD card reader and USB mass storage
As an alternative, Version 2.0 allows for the use of an SD card reader and USB mass storage interface in case the network connection at the site of the live event is insufficient. With the new Visual Story app, the photographer can select images directly from the camera and import them directly into the app using an Apple SD card reader or a USB cable directly to the camera.
Connectivity and usability improved
This app automatically reconnects users’ smartphones and cameras if they lose connection. This makes operating it more convenient. As an additional benefit, more option settings can now be copied from the camera to the smartphone via Bluetooth.
Version 2.0 of Visual Story also improves usability based on user feedback. The following are included:
* Import destination settings optimization
* Reconnecting when an FTP connection is lost
* Reducing the number of steps required to create a Story
Gallery
* Identifying the original file name in a Story Gallery
* Adding the ability to download individual photos and videos
in a Story Gallery
* Extending the expiration time for Live Galleries by up to
24 hours
* Adding background color options in a Story Gallery
Support and Availability
It is available now in the App Store for free for those who have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. It supports the following Sony cameras: Alpha 7C, Alpha 7 III, Alpha 7R IV, Alpha 7S III, Alpha 9, Alpha 9 II, Alpha 1 and FX3. The FTP function may also be supported by cameras from other manufacturers.
Sony is planning to make Visual Story available to more people by supporting Android later this fall.
