Unlike previous generation PlayStations, the PS5 features high-end PC hardware. And at its heart sits an AMD Ryzen Zen 2 chip with 8 cores and 16 threads. It is supported by 16 of RAM and an AMD Radeon RDNA 2 based GPU with Ray Tracing. This, allows it to output video to 4K or 8K TVs.

In addition to this, its controller is supposed to offer surreal haptic feedback. It’s meant to portray a sense of realism, which helps translate the intensity experienced in the virtual world, into real life. For example, when pulling on a bowstring in a game, the controller should be able to emulate the feeling by inducing movement resistance for the trigger buttons.

It’s an enticing prospect, being able to enjoy such an immersive experience. And to show us how much thought and effort went into the construction of the PlayStation 5, the company has published a teardown video.
