Well, its about darn time! Timex, a staple of the watch world, has introduced a new smartwatch called the Ironman R300 GPS. It’s listed for sale on the company’s website at $120, which is competitive for what it offers.

Available in either dark or light grey, the IRONMAN has an oblong rectangular shape that tapers toward the edges. The thick bezels don’t scream cutting edge technology, but will definitely offer better better durability.

Timex’s IRONMAN line of watches are known for their robustness, able to take severe punishments but keep ticking. About 34 years ago, the watchmaker introduced its first IRONMAN digital watch, which gave way to a whole series of fitness focused watches for the past several decades.

Sporting a diameter of 41mm, the watch is geared towards fitness enthusiasts. It is equipped with a heart rate monitor, GPS and fitness activity tracking. The watch even offers guided workout routines dedicated to athletes and coaches.

This IRONMAN can be synced with the Timex Smart app, allowing users to save and track workouts and other health data. When used without GPS, the IRONMAN R300 offers up to 25 days of battery life, but if GPS is kept active, expect to receive only about 20 hours of service.

Timex says that the OS is compatible with Android and iOS devices, and is able to display text messages, calls and social media notifications. Check out the watchmaker’s website to learn more about this new device.
