Samsung Galaxy Watch4 users can now use Google Assistant as an alternative to Bixby, the de facto voice assistant for said watch. It’s available as a download and grants wearers access to faster and more natural interactions when completing certain tasks.

The introduction of the Watch4 signaled a shift in priorities for Samsung as it embraced Google’s WearOS ecosystem to the detriment of TizenOS. The latter is the company’s home baked wearable operating system that it used to tide it over until the Search giant got its act together.

This finally happened when both Google and Samsung teamed up to produce WearOS powered by Samsung. The collaborative effort brought to fruition a more polished operating system that runs on the Watch4. It’s smoother and more reliable than its forebears, which is a testament to the work done to its core system.
