The introduction of Android 11, brings a whole host of improvement that border on the useful side. Though most new features go unnoticed, especially for those who aren’t using a Pixel phone, the more recent ones however, could prove useful. Google wants you to know of 5 new features that it hopes, will be of service to you.

Do More with Google Assistant
Google’s helpful voice assistant has now been granted the ability to access apps and complete various tasks on your behalf. Users can now say, “Hey Google, send snap with Cartoon Lens” or “Hey Google, log a berry smoothie on MyFitnessPal.”
Apparently, Google seems to have partnered with a variety of app developers including Spotify, Etsy and Discord. And as such, you can now accomplish specific tasks within an app, by using your voice.

Improved Google Duo
Now you can share your phone screen with a caller and allow them to see what you’re doing. Your contacts can also leave you a video message when you’re not able to answer a call. These messages are saved with automatic captions, which is helpful in cases where you need to be discreet.

Stamp out spam callers
Google’s phone app, now has the ability to tell you who’s calling and why. It’s available for devices running Android 9 or higher. download it at the Play Store.

New Notifications for those with hearing loss
Your phone will now be to detect a fire alarm, or other important and alarming sounds by trying to grab your attention by flashing the screen, vibrating or sending a push notification. This could also prove useful for those who have their headphones on, and are unware of what’s happening around them. Set up Sound Notifications in the Live Transcribe app, to get this feature.

Get Ready For Google TV
It’s only available for US customers at the moment, but the Google Play Movies & TV app is being turned into Google TV. It will provide you with recommendations for movies and shows across your streaming apps. This puts everything in one, convenient place.
