Samsung’s new AI features for the Galaxy S24 series aim to simply work-related tasks and be the ideal translating companion. It can translate what’s being said in real-time, transcribe it to text as well as summarize content into easy-to-understand bullet points. Now, where was this technology when I was in school?

Live Translation, translates phone conversations in real time, allowing you to converse with the person on the other end of the call (who is speaking a foreign language) as though they were speaking the same language. This is available in 17 languages and provides two-way translation on both devices, even if one of you isn’t using a Galaxy smartphone.

Chat Assist offers different AI-generated options on how to restructure your message and writing style. It can be used to draft a witty social media post or a formal email to your boss. This is accessible right from the Samsung Keyboard. Chat Assist is availability in 17 different languages.

Interpreter lets the Galaxy S24 becomes a real-time translator. When in use, it splits the phone screen into two parts. Each person can instantly translate text to the other with and have the phone read it aloud.

The S24 series intelligently organizes your phone too. Note Assist can generate, read, and save condensed versions of your reading materials and archive what you need. When you open a document, Note Assist prompts you to save its content to the Samsung Notes app and auto format the text and correct spelling mistakes before creating a bullet point summary above the main text.

But that isn’t all, this wizard can also extract and summarize text straight from physical books and translate notes into other languages. Browsing Assist can turn long articles into summaries.

Transcript Assist creates accurate records of meetings and conversations. All you must do is record a meeting using the native Samsung voice recording app. Once done, use Transcript Assist to convert it to text. It does so while considering what each individual speaker is saying.

Then, you can share or send it to Samsung Notes and add an AI-generated bullet summary to it using Note Assist. Lastly, if you have pre-existing audio files Transcript Assist can convert these files to notes using Text to Audio. It’s a nifty feature for those of us tasked with jotting down minutes of a meeting.
