BeamNG.drive Offers Hours Of Destructive Entertainment
May 6, 2020If you’re a fan of racing sims, then BeamNG.drive will definitely be of interest to you. It’s a car game that has several mini games that include Freeroam, Scenario/Missions, Time Trials and several others. The main selling point of the game is its ability to portray a sense of realism in terms of vehicle physics that comes extremely close to that of real life.
Vehicle deformations, especially during crashes are far more believable than that experienced from the majority of racing sims on the market. BeamNG.drive makes no apologies for what it is, a driving sim that moonlights as an entertaining ‘freeroam’ game that encourages spontaneity among players as they push vehicles to their limits and destruction.
The driving physics of each vehicle differ greatly. Elements like tyre width, drivetrain, horsepower and brake bias, play pivotal roles when it comes to defining a car’s character. Even if you choose the same model of car, but with a varying drivetrain option, said models’ driving behaviour changes drastically. The game even allows you to customize a vehicle to suit your taste.
One can be so bold as to say that BeamNG.drive is able to reproduce effects and situations of real life that are almost unattainable in the virtual world. And even if you aren’t a fan of simulators, the sheer pleasure of seeing a car disintegrate after a crash, provide for hours upon hours of entertainment.
Sadly, the game isn’t perfect. BeamNG.drive suffers from a number of glitches that include graphics and performance issues. This hinder gamers from experiencing the best that the game has to offer. That said, the game’s developer constantly provides updates and free upgrades that improve performance, graphics and make vehicles look and feel more realistic.
But to truly enjoy this game, you will need to have a powerful PC, especially one with at least an Intel Core-i7 6700, 16GB RAM and NVIDIA GTX 970 to truly enjoy the game, the way its developers intended. Anything less, will result in shoddy vehicle graphics, and less than stellar gaming performance.
If you are interested, it’s available to purchase on Steam. Check it out and let us know what you think of the game!
