Collaborate With Friends And Family On Spotify Playlists

Spotify has been steadily adding features to its music listening app. One of the more notable ones is the ability to collaborate with friends and family members on a playlist. Instead of having to scour the entire online library on your own to find that a handful of songs, now with the help of others, entire playlists can be curated in no time at all.

It’s called the Collaborative Playlist. And with it, users can band together, despite social distancing, and create awesome nostalgic lists of songs. It’s an experience that Spotify hopes, bridges the gap that COVID-19 has forcibly wedged between us in this past year. The feature allows users to swap recommendations and share their latest music discoveries.

Here’s how you can enable the collaboration feature:

  1. On your phone or tablet, tap Your Library.
  2. Go to Playlists, and select the one you want to collaborate on (keep in mind you can only do this for playlists you’ve created)
  3. Tap the Add user button in the header to make the playlist collaborative
  4. Start inviting others to add songs and podcast episodes on social media, messaging apps, or simply by copying and pasting the link

Apart from this, Spotify is also adding 4 new features to its streaming app. This includes a new Add User button in the playlist header, a list displaying user avatars in the playlist and new user avatars in front of each track or episode. This way, you can keep tabs on who’s contributed to a playlist and for which song choices.
