Mix Playlist To Jam With Your Bffs On Spotify

To change up the playlist you’ve been listening to on repeat, you ask your friends for recommendations. There are over 11 million playlists on Spotify with the word “friend” in the title, so those connections have a tremendous impact on your results. One of the reasons Spotify created Blend was to make it easier for listeners to connect and discover music by combining the best of personalization capabilities. And it’s just the beginning.

The latest Spotify feature, Friends Mix, helps listeners discover new and familiar tracks based on what’s trending among friends. After you’ve created three two-person Blends, a new playlist will appear within your Made For Us shelf – Friends Mix and it’s available on iOS and desktop to both free and premium users globally.

To get started, this is what you need to do:

Type “Blend” within the search tab on Spotify. Then, tap “Invite” to select a friend you want to Blend with.

Spotify will generate a shared Blend playlist once your friend accepts the invite, which will include songs that reflect both your music preferences. In addition, you’ll be able to see which songs your friend added.

Once your friend joins the listening party, you’ll receive a custom share card you can use to spread the word. After that, your Blend will continue to update every day.

After creating three two-person Blends (with one other friend), you’ll be able to see a Friends Mix in the Made For Us hub. You’ll find music that combines the tastes of your friends there.

This is designed to grow with you and your friends over time, so you’ll always find something new to discover on Friends Mix. The more Blend playlists you create with your BFFs, the better the music you’ll discover together.
