DJI AGRAS T20 An Autonomous Farming Tool

November 13, 2020 Off By Naveen Victor

Drones are fast becoming the de facto tool for aerial reconnaissance and oversight of vast properties or farmlands. DJI’s AGRAS T20 is one such example of a multi-purpose UAV that aims to simplify the workflow of the agricultural sector. Its autonomous flight planning, terrain-sensitive radar and swappable batteries make it a practical solution for farmers.

This drone has a maximum payload of 20kg, and is fitted with nozzles that have been optimized with a 20% improvement on the uniformity of spray droplets and the effective spray width of 7 meters. Its 8 nozzles and high volume pumps can spray at a rate of up to 6L/min. The 4-channel electromagnetic flow meter design, it can monitor and control the four hoses individually.

The omnidirectional digital radar system, allows the AGRAS T20 to safely navigate and meander past obstacles. The spray tank and battery are both swappable, which help minimize downtime and maintain a good level of workflow efficiency. Users can set its flight path and operational parameters fairly easily, which it then follows to ensure spraying precision and effectiveness.

This drone can be operated via a new programmable Smart Controller 2.0 and the DJI AGRAS app. The controller has a 5.5-inch display that supports external battery packs and, according to DJI, can last twice as long as other remote controls. The AGRAS T20 is also fitted with a real-time FPV camera and two searchlights, which helps it operate effectively in any condition.

In addition to this, its IP67 rated, which means that it has a strong resistance to dust and water. As such, it can withstand water splashes from cleaning and to an extent, weather the effects caused by rain and foreign particles that are carried about in the wind. But that’s not all, DJI has taken it a step further by supporting agricultural solutions.

According to the company, “The DJI agricultural solution packages are designed to monitor crop health and generate variable treatment procedures. By using the P4 Multispectral, operators can scan target areas and generate multispectral charts that provide actionable insights into crop health and help formulate variable spraying and seeding maps.”

The DJI AGRAS T20 is available for pre-order now in select countries and regions. For more details about the product, pricing and availability, visit https://www.dji.com/t20 or contact an authorized DJI reseller.
