The survey will also be used to identify the fans’ favorite drivers and race tracks, as well as their views on viewing habits, esports and F1’s plans to have 100% sustainable fuel in the near future. This will also show how F1 fans are evolving and showcase the increasing number of young, diverse audiences for the sport.

Motorsport Network is conducting its third Global F1 Fan survey, the first two taking place in 2015 and 2017 – both had more than 200K respondents. A comparison will be made between this year’s survey and the two previous surveys, with the 2017 survey considered to be the largest for any type of motorsport ever undertaken.

The President of Motorsport Network, James Allen, said, “Having conducted Fan Voice surveys in 2015 with the FIA regarding Formula 1 and 2017 with WEC, we understand the importance of these surveys to rights holders and organizers of major races”. “This survey will give us a deeper understanding of the fans and their opinions, as well as what changes have taken place since Liberty Media took over Formula 1. We will be able to assess the success of the implemented changes.”

The survey, open to anyone over 16 years of age, is open to complete during the two week period starting on 8th September and ending on 22nd September, with the results being announced in the weeks leading up to the US Grand Prix in October 2021.
