Honda WR-V Now Open For Bookings

June 12, 2023 Off By Naveen Victor

Honda has opened the order books for its newest compact SUV called the WR-V. It’s an acronym that stands for Winsome Runabout Vehicle (WR-V) and is meant to appeal to consumers who want something smaller than what the company currently offers.

Measuring 4,060mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,608mm in height, the WR-V offers a ground clearance of 207mm, which is far higher than regular cars. It’s powered by a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine that puts out close to 120hp and a maximum torque of 145Nm.

The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox, which may not be to everyone’s liking. It uses what Honda calls G-design shift technology to offer a good balance between driving performance and offering decent fuel economy.

Like its bigger brothers, the WR-V is fitted with a slew of safety features which include Honda SENSING, which consists of several important technology that include:

1. Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN)
2. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
3. Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
4. Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
5. Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
6. Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
7. Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
8. Auto High Beam (AHB)

In addition to this, the WR-V also offers Honda LaneWatch assistance, which acts as your third eye, allowing you to safely navigate roads and change lanes. Support for Honda CONNECT means that you can access various vehicle information through the use of the app on your smartphone. It’s an added convenience that lets you keep tabs on the important bits.

Prior to its official launch, Honda is arranging exclusive preview sessions of the WR-V to customers at selected Honda dealerships. It’s a chance for would-be buyers to have a first-hand look at the vehicle to gauge if it’s what they want to buy.
