Microsoft Introduces New Laptop And Colorful Accessories

Microsoft is introducing a new and more affordable version of its Surface laptop. Taking a page out of it’s tablet line, the new device is called the Surface Laptop Go. The Go moniker usually denotes a more budget friendly variant of a Microsoft device. It sits below the Surface laptop, the company’s halo device in the laptop space.

The Go, features a 12.4-inch PixelSense touchscreen display flanked by thin and narrow bezels. This and the nicely constructed keyboard and precision trackpad give it a very premium look. It comes in three different metal finishes: Ice Blue, Sandstone and Platinum. Certain models of the Go will have a fingerprint power button with One Touch sign-in through Windows Hello.

This laptop is powered by an Intel 10th Gen Core-i5 processor (quad-core) with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB storage space. Battery life is pegged at 13 hours, but this is just a ballpark figure. Real world usage may vary depending on screen brightness and workloads. It also supports fast charging, enabling for more convenient top-ups.

Microsoft says that its new budget laptop gets studio mics, 720p HD camera, omnisonic speakers and Dolby Audio. Surprisingly, the device also gets a USB A along side the USB C port and audio jack. It’s proof that despite gunning for a thin and light design, Microsoft, blessed with enough foresight, understands the importance of still supporting legacy devices.

The Surface Laptop Go is being marketed towards kids, working adults and businesses that require a compact device that can accomplish all their PC related tasks.
