Google has been a busy bee these past few months. Besides making Google Meet available for free to the general public, it has also been steadily rolling out useful product updates. The new features aim to extend the level of productivity of the Search giant’s app ecosystem. Now, it has done the same for its Nest Hub Max.

The company says that it will be making Zoom, the ever popular video conferencing service available to Assistant-enabled smart displays by the end of this year. This is in addition to Google Duo and Meet, which are already available on the platform.

Users can start a group video call on the nest Hub by saying, “Hey Google, start a meeting.” Once you are done with that session, and would like to start the next one, just say, “Hey Google, join my next meeting.” Since it is part of Google’s connected ecosystem, you can invite others to join the session with your Android or iOS device.

Google Duo will eventually be replaced by Google Meet, but for now, users cans till use the mobile app to ask the Next Hub Max to make a group call or leave video messages for your contacts. Just say, “Hey Google, leave a video message for .” This can also be done via your phone, and the recipient will see it when they walk up to the Hub Max.

That said, these features pale in comparison to the ability to broadcast your specific message to your family. Here’s a scenario that best exemplifies this feature: Say that you are on your way home food for dinner, and want to alert your family members. All you have to do is tell your phone, “Hey Google, broadcast I’m pulling into the driveway soon.”

The Assistant is able to understand the context of your instruction, and broadcast the message accordingly. It can also up the ante, by sending a message to a specific device in your home. All you have to do is say, “Hey Google, broadcast to the study room.” And the Nest Hub or Hub Max in that particular location will broadcast your message.

There are many more ways that you can interact with the Google Assistant. In the past several months several new and important features have been added, which have granted the voice assistant the ability to show news events, location of businesses and how to get there. Now, that social distancing is a ‘thing’, we are going to be leaning heavily on this technology.
