In the current situation, everyone including students are using computers to work or study from home. Therefore, a computer is needed to complete tasks, stream lessons or even watch them live online. It is important for students to have clear connections to educators and classmates as well as a device that will allow them to utilize a variety of apps and the software.

The latest Chrome OS update will allow for better stability and multitasking features. Users can conduct video calls at home while accessing Doc’s or PowerPoint. Google has focused on improvising the operating system to make it easier on various hardware configurations.

Here are some improvements Chrome OS makes behind the scenes;

Distance Education
The update allows Meet Videos to be displayed using a grid view, therefore making it easier for students and teachers to view everything on one screen. By doing this, it’s possible to see the feed from other Meet attendees while using other apps. For instance, if a student is taking notes in a Google Doc while on a Meet session, they can still view all other attendees.

Features of the camera
A Chromebook’s camera will be more stable and ensuring that audio and video do not buffer while it’s processing. Users can expect better performance even with poorer internet connections. WFH’s Achilles’ heel, is a stable internet connection. It can mean the difference between working effectively and being a drain on company resources.

Adaptive Auto-Adjust
Google Meet can accommodate your daily routines easily. When the student or teacher needs to share a note while in a Meet, the resolution or frame rate may decrease slightly to improve the video performance. Meet allows you to make sure you don’t miss anything important by switching off the video feed to compensate for a poor connection.

Assuring The Goals
Educators are able to use Meet to organize their virtual classrooms, as they used to do, and even engage with the students to participate, set up small groups and handle questions as if they were in class. Students can use features like hand-raising, digital whiteboard, polls, and Q&A, in addition to breakout rooms. This will allow educators to continue using traditional teaching methods in the virtual classroom setting.

Improvement Alert
Educators and students who use Zoom will notice the improvements during video conferences. Google and the Zoom engineering teams have been working to make online interactions more conducive to productivity. Check out the Meet training guide for more information about videoconferencing, or you can sign up to attend trainings for educators.
