December 16, 2020While thinking of what would be the perfect gift, you might also find yourself pondering over which e-card would be the best to bring them joy in all the challenges they have faced in 2020.
Here is an App that could be the perfect solution. It was created by artist David Li and lets you to make your very own musical themes for this holiday season inspired by Opera on Google Arts & Culture.
Worry not, there’s a guide on how to make vowel sounds, even if you’re bad at it, the four playful blobs will take your tunes and make them sound great, even if you can’t play an instrument.
Share your composition with family and friends. You can easily record your own creation and it would be something sure to put a smiles on faces. This would be the first Blob Opera.
Blob Opera is a musical experiment developed with a learning model trained by four opera singers. This enables it to create an engaging, fun experience regardless of musical skills. Tenor, Christian Joel, bass Frederick Tong, mezzo-soprano Joanna Gamble and soprano Olivia Doutney recorded many hours of singing.
While you are experimenting with Blob Opera, you wont even hear the voices but only the program’s adjustment model’s producing the opera sounds, based on that rhythm it learned. The resulting experiment allows you to create your own composition by changing pitch and vocal sounds.
The blobs turn and respond to the input in real time. If you are feeling hesitant about it or maybe are a little shy, you can also let the blobs perform for you in classics like “Jingle Bells” and “O Holy Night.”
Besides composing tunes, you can also have fun with the holiday-themed coloring books created by Google Arts & Culture. Or we could take a virtual trip, since we cannot go abroad for Christmas this year.
Another experiment called “The Never Ending Holiday,” whereby a computer generated, surrealist-inspired, short video was created which uses Google Maps and Street View data which allows users to take free tours of France, Italy and Spain.
You can now use your holidays to do something else apart from just watching the best Christmas movies. You can discover fabulous things that will keep you entertained till the new year.
