LG TONE Wireless Earbuds Have Built-in UV Sanitizing Features

LG has created a selection of wireless Bluetooth earbuds that not only designed from the ground up to be as ergonomic as possible, but take into account hygiene as well. The clamshell cases of the FP9, FP8 and FP5 house earbuds that have been crafted after analyzing hundreds of ear shapes.

They feature an arc design with stems that are 4.4mm shorter than the models they replace. LG says that they should stay planted even during intense workout sessions. Thanks to the IPX4, the earbuds should be able to repeal sweat and rain during daily use. But what sets LG’s wireless earbuds apart from its competitors is the attention given to user hygiene.

The FP9 and FP8’s cases incorporate UVnano technology. When the earbuds are seated, the system gets to work and sterilizes them and kills bacteria lingering on the ear tips. The entire process takes about 5 minutes to complete. But that isn’t all, the ear tips themselves are made from hypoallergenic and anti-allergic Medical Grade Silicon Ear Gels.

This attention to detail should allow for more people with sensitive skin or reservation about the hygiene aspect of using earbuds, to use them without issue. Keep in mind, that you should thoroughly clean your earbuds and eartips periodically to prevent build-up of earwax and other debris.

LG’s earbuds utilize headphone spatial processing from Meridian Audio, which provides an improved acoustical experience compared to regular earphones. The company says that the built-in equalizer provides a decent amount of bass and treble that can be likened to witnessing a music session, in person.

Active noise cancelling is available for the newer FP9 and FP8 devices, which reduces low frequency noises from entering a user’s ears. Ambient mode, when active, lets in the surrounding ambient noises so that the user is aware of his/her surroundings.

Whisper mode, allows for the right earbud to be held close to a user’s mouth as a dedicated microphone to ensure clarity in hectic environments or when in a quiet room. The FP9’s charging case doble as a wireless dongle, which could prove useful at times.
