LG Eclair Is A Compact Soundbar That Promises An Immersive Listening Experience

February 19, 2023 Off By Naveen Victor

LG’s new soundbar, the Eclair (model QP5) is its most compact offering in Malaysia, measuring just 296×59.9x126mm. It’s also one third the width of the company’s previous smallest 3.1.2 channel Atmos soundbar, SP8YA. The idea is to have it be small enough to fit in just about the tightest of spaces while still being able to deliver an immersive audio experience.

This 3.1.2 channel sound system comprises the soundbar and its accompanying wireless subwoofer, both of which incorporate an oval design that’s covered in jersey fabric (white or black). They use Meridian Audio’s tuning and technology to achieve the intended level of clarity and spatiality.

Meridian’s Horizon tech up-mixes two channel stereo feed into a multichannel audio one for a wider soundstage with a tonal balance that is able to accurately recreate the actual recording. LG also says that Eclair uses fewer cables without affecting sound quality.

This is possible because the enhanced audio return channel (eARC) allows for the lossless transmission of 5.1-channel, 7.1-channel and immersive audio definitions such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

If you own one of the 2021 LG TVs you’ll benefit from the TV Sound Mode Share, which uses the processing power of LG’s latest α (Alpha) AI processors and AI Sound Pro to produce richer quality sound of the content you’re watching.

Eclair also has 4K pass-through support to allow the viewing of 4K and HDR content (including Dolby Vision) from their preferred streaming services. The adaptive LG AI Sound Pro analyzes content being played and applies the best sound settings that it thinks fits the mode and genre of the footage depending on whether it’s the news, music or cinema.

The LG Eclair will be available in Malaysia at RM2,799. If you would like to know more about it or LG’s other electronic products, visit www.lg.com/my.
