Google is pushing new features to Android phones with the aim to improve the messaging app and add convenience to other aspects of the operating system. Reactions that you receive from iPhone users will now appear as emojis in text messages. When you send a Google Photos link, the receiver will be able to view it in the same resolution.

Eventually, you’ll be allowed to send photos in the same way. In addition to this, Messages will also give you the option of automatically sorting texts into Personal and Business tabs, reduce clutter with one-time password messages that are deleted after 24 hours and gentle nudges to remind you to answer texts that you’ve missed or need to reply to.

The app will also offer reminders to make sure you wish your friends and family members on their respective birthdays. There are over 2000 emojis that you can use via Gboard to react to various responses and questions. The system’s grammar corrections are smarter and are able to detect mistakes and offer helpful suggestions.

Transcribe is available in offline mode, and lets you convert speech-to-text in an instant. This is especially useful if you do not have WiFi access or data coverage when on a plane or in areas with limited internet access.

The Photos app on Android will soon let users access Portrait Blur on their photos of more subjects like pets, food and plants. It doesn’t matter when the picture was taken and if portrait mode was on at the time. Google’s machine learning does all the complicated work to provide the intended results.

Available in ParkMobile street parking zones in over 400 cities in the US, users will be able to use Google Assistant and Google Pay to pay or check on parking statuses with their voices. Instead of having to deal with physical currency, the same work can be done with your phone and electronic payment systems.

Android is also introducing a new screen time widget that lets you see the three apps that you use the most. You can then select Digital Wellbeing to see some helpful ways to change your online habits to achieve a healthier mental state. You can set daily timers for yours, focus mode pauses certain apps and bedtime mode silences your device and changes the screen to black and white.

A new update to Nearby Share on Android allows users to share files or other content with multiple people rather than one person. It’s available on all devices that are running Android 6 or later.
