Samsung’s recent Unpacked event played host to the launch of its latest foldable smartphones. You can read more about them here. But what many people don’t know is that, alongside said devices, the Korean giant also revealed its first-ever Global Goals band for the Galaxy Watch. It’s the first band designed to contribute to the Global Goals initiative.

It’s an interesting Watch strap that has a grayish hue but is also infused with various other colored accents surrounding the holes for the buckle as well as stripes at the edges. Alongside this rainbowed accented band, Samsung also released two new Global Goals watch faces that are available across the globe.

Their complications are fed with information by the Samsung Global Goals App. For instance, they are able to display quotes related to the Goals. This helps users learn more about the Global Goals initiative and inspire the community to engage and care more about what’s being done.

Samsung partnered with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 2019 to create the Samsung Global Goals App. Its purpose is to help offer users simple ways to learn more about the Global Goals, spread awareness and generate funding for the UNDP’s global initiatives.

According to the company, 5% of the revenue collected from the purchase of every Global Goals band will be donated to the UNDP. This should help advance their work in developing sustainable policies and building intuitions in more than 170 countries.

The unique looking Global Goals watch band is expected to be made available in 14 markets: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, the United States and the United Kingdom. It is compatible with Samsung Galaxy Watch4, Watch4 Classic, Watch5 and Watch5 Pro.
