WhatsApp’s “Keep In Chat” Feature Let’s You Hold On To Disappearing Messages
April 24, 2023 Off By Naveen VictorWhatsApp’s Disappearing Messages has been great for privacy, especially if you don’t want people to holding on to your texts, indefinitely. The feature also helps to prevent them from ending up in the wrong hands.
However, if someone would like to keep certain parts of messages, they can do so with “Keep In Chat”. It’s a new feature that lets users of a conversation hold on to texts for later. But that depends on whether the sender will allow them to do so.
Whenever someone chooses “Keep In Chat” for certain messages, the sender will be notified of this action. If you decide not to allow these messages to be kept, they will be deleted when the timer expires. WhatsApp lets you have the final say on what recipients get to keep in a certain conversation.
Messages that you’ve saved will be marked with a bookmark icon. They are also organized by chat and stored in the Kept Messages folder. It’s just one of many ways that WhatsApp has evolved over the years to offer better functionality to its users.
