Xbox Series X, next gen console with 8K graphics

Microsoft has announced the Xbox Series X, the next gen gaming console that is supposed to offer four times the computing power of the current Xbox One X. This matte black square tower will be able deliver an immersive experience while remaining as quiet as possible.

At first glance, many would regard the tall structure as impractical, especially when it comes to storage space, but this isn’t the ‘case’. The Xbox Series X can be placed either vertically or horizontally, on any flat surface.

Inside, it’s got a custom-designed AMD Zen 2 processor and next generation RNDA architecture. This hardware allow the new Xbox to deliver accelerated ray tracing and powerful graphics computational performance, something consoles weren’t able to do before.

According to Microsoft, the patented Variable Rate Shading (VRS) technology will allow developers to get the most out of the hardware. Also, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and like Dynamic Latency Input (DLI), will make this console the most responsive Xbox ever.

This means that gaming at 4K and 60FPS/120FPS shouldn’t be a problem. But the machine is capable of supporting a resolution of 8K. Check out the following video of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II to see what can be expected of the new Xbox that is supposed to launch during the 2020 holiday season.

Thanks to backward compatibility, the Xbox Series X will be able to play all the games that were introduced for the last four generations of Xbox consoles. Then, there’s also a new wireless controller that has been resized and reshaped, slightly, to accommodate more hand sizes.

It has a new Share button for capturing screenshots and game clips. There’s also a hybrid d-pad inspired by the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. Microsoft says that this new wireless controller will be included with every new Xbox Series X system. But it will also be compatible with the Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.
