Google Announces New Line Of Fitbit Devices
August 25, 2022This week, Google announced its latest line of fitness wearables, which are the Fitbit Inspire 3, Versa 4 and Sense 2. Compared to their predecessors the new devices are thinner, more comfortable to wear and offer decent battery life. Choosing between them depends on what you want out of a fitness tracker.
Each of them, to a varying degree, offer metrics on health and wellness routines, which include your resting heart rate, oxygen saturation (SpO2), sleep trends and your body’s response to stressors. The following is a brief summary of what you can expect from each device:
Inspire 3 is a simple fitness tracker that records your workouts and other physical activities. It’s the entry-level device with a decent color display, that should be adequate for people who want an affordable device that requires very little care.
Versa 4 is an actual smartwatch geared toward fitness tracking. It offers over 40 exercise models, real-time statistics, built-in GPS and Active Zone Minutes. There’s also Daily Readiness Score that helps you reach set goals. The device offers 6 days battery life despite being thinner and lighter than its predecessor.
Sense 2 Is the company’s most advanced health-focused smartwatch. Other than tracking your fitness activities, the device can also track your heat health with sensors that can detect signs of atrial fibrillation through a dedicated ECG app and PPG algorithm ( FDA cleared and CE marked), heart rate variability, skin temperature and several others.
There’s also a new Body Response sensor, which is used to measure cEDA for all-day stress management. These functions can be extended through the use of the Fitbit app, which is also available to the rest of the lineup. It helps users stay motivated with information on their activity, heart health, sleep and stress.
Users can also record their hydration, menstrual health, mood, nutrition and glucose levels and keep track of all them with this single app. Fitbit Premium takes health monitoring to a new level. It’s a service that’s included with all new Fitbit devices purchases for a period of six months. It helps track Daily Readiness Score and Sleep Profile, over 1,000 workout and mindfulness lessons.
