Narwal’s T10 Can Vacuum And Mop Without Your Help

Autonomous vacuum cleaners have been with us for several years. They clean the house of dust and other debris based on the schedules we provide them. Narwal’s T10 can vacuum and mop the floors without human intervention. It’s a 2-in1 robot mop and vacuum machine that uses self-cleaning technology.

“After seeing my mother work day in and day out to keep the family home clean, I decided to apply my expertise and passion for robotics,” said Junbin Zhang, Narwal’s Founder and CEO. “And when I discovered that most robot mops on the market need to be cleaned manually, which is counterintuitive, I knew I had the right project.”

Similar in size to a Roomba or Samsung’s JetBot, the T10 can navigate past obstacles to clean an entire home. It has a 1800Pa suction power to clean surfaces of debris. The interchangeable circular brushes and mops allow it to transition between vacuum and mopping duties. Its base station has two tanks, one for clean water and the other for wastewater.

Once the T10 detects that its mops have become too dirty to clean surfaces, it returns to the base station for automatic mop cleaning. Once done, it sets out again and resumes moping duties at the exact location where it left off earlier. Once the task is complete, it returns to the base station where the mops are auto-dried to prevent bacterial build-up.

The T10 uses LiDAR or Light Detection and Ranging Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technology to navigate its way throughout a home. Narwal says that it can cover areas up to 3,000 square feet while avoiding ‘no-go’ zones. Users can remotely control and unlock functions for the T10 through the companion app on iOS and Android.

This includes setting restricted zones, cleaning path, current status as well as several others. The Narwal T10 is available in Canada for $1,399 CAD but can also be purchased in the US and several other countries. Besides the T10 The company is involved in SLAM, 3D perception, AI object recognition, robot mechanisms, and big data application.
