HP has unveiled its next generation Spectre x360 13 and its an improvement over its predecessor. Made from CNC milled aluminium, the latest iteration of the company’s ultra-portable halo laptop is about 13% smaller than the previous model but sports a 90% screen-to-body ratio. This new Spectre weighs just 2.8 lbs or 1.27kg and will be offered with an optional 400-nit 4K OLED display. This display is said to have True Black HDR and an anti-reflective surface for better outdoor visibility.

Performance wise, it is twice as fast as the previous generation laptop due to the quad-core 10th Gen Intel chip. No word on battery capacity but HP says the new Spectre x360 is able to last 22 hours on a single charge, which guarantees all-day battery life. Intel’s Wi-Fi 6 is provided as standard equipment but users can opt for the optional 4×4 Gigabit LTE should they want better transfer rates.

Other goodies include a webcam kill switch for added privacy, mute mic button, an IR camera that is only 2.2mm wide and a
finger print sensor. there’s also the optional built-in privacy screen that buyers can choose should they want to protect they privacy from wandering eyes.

HP’s new Spectre x360 is available in three different colours namely, Natural Silver, Nightfall Black with Copper Luxe accents and Poseidon Blue with Pale Brass accents. It will be available to order in October via HP.com, with a starting price of $1,099 with the following configuration:

– Nightfall Black with 16 GB of RAM, a 4K OLED display, and 1 TB SSD with 32 GB Optane
– Natural Silver with 8 GB of RAM, an FHD display, and 512 GB SSD with 32 GB Optane

A marked improvement over its predecessor, the new Spectre x360 builds on the success of the model it replaces by offering better tech, more power but in a smaller body shell.
