Sony releases timeline for Android 10 roll out

Android 10 is the latest version of Google’s smartphone OS. The search giant’s Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL were some of the first phones to receive the latest update. But it will take significantly longer for mainstream manufacturers to push this update to their product line-up.

Sony, has announced that the Xperia 1 and 5 will be among the first of its devices to receive Android 10 in December. In early 2020, the Xperia 10, 10 Plus, XZ2, XZ2 Compact, XZ2 Premium ad XZ3 will all receive the latest version of Android too. This may upset those on older devices, but this is an obsolesce issue that all Android users have to come to terms with.

Google introduced a whole host of features with the roll out of the 10th installment of Android. It gives users access to Smart Reply, that acts like an intelligent assistant. There’s also Live Caption that that automatically captions videos,podcasts and audio messages. Last but not least is Family link, which gives parents better control of their kids’ devices.

If you are interested to learn more about Android, click here. It will take considerable amount of time for most devices to receive the necessary software update. But, if don’t want to wait long, and do not want a Pixel device, the next best thing is to opt for phones that support Andorid One. It’s a platform similar to the Pixel programme, but at a fraction of the price.
