Google is set to release a new Pixel phone on August 3rd. It released a rather bizarre teaser page on its Google Store website with a a headline, obscured by rectangular blocks. The words behind them can be unlocked by clicking on said blocks till their colour combinations match that of the Google logo. This is: Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Red.
The page, first reported by 9to5Google, will then read “Just What You’ve Been Waiting For Phone”. Recent rumors point to to a new budget Pixel as stated by The Verge, and the obvious use of the singular noun ‘Phone’, lends credence to that notion.

The teaser page, which features a phone-like shape and vague lettering, is meant to build hype for the upcoming device. The Verge also reported that the same colored lettering can be found on Google’s @madebygoogle Twitter account.

It’s a similarly vague ‘redacted’ style sentence. It’s purpose is to hint at the imminent launch of a new phone. The current budget Pixel, the 3A brings the plain Google experience to the masses at a more affordable price. Far from perfect, it manages to retain several likable traits of the Pixel line, including the quirky aesthetics.
Stay tuned and we will let you know more as we find out!
